OUR HISTORY

The Govone Producers Winery, founded in 1957,is located in the areas of Alba, Langhe, Roero, Asti and Monferrato and produces high quality wines that represent the territory and are internationally recognized. Currently the winery has about 250 contributing members, owners and tenants of 300 hectares of vineyards.

In total we can consider 295 hectares of vineyards for a global wine production of about 2.000.000 liter per year.

Many years have passed since the date of the foundation,

but the spirit of union between the founders is always the same:

a spirit that leads to expanding one’s range of action at a commercial

level and at a social base level always dedicated to encrease

the quantity of hectars and encrease the quality.

The Langhe and Roero area is one of the most generous and lovely regions in the world for the exellent quality and variety of wine production.

Everything arises from the particular geographical location.

The Roero north of the Tanaro is characterized by steep rocks and steep rock walls, valleys and hills that create different microclimatic conditions and allow the grapes to express fine and intense aromas.

The Langhe are located in the southern part of Piedmont and the name refers to the hills arranged parallel to each other, forming deep and very narrow valleys.

The calcareous-clayey character of the Langhe lands means that the red wines are full-bodied and very structured; the more sandy and soft soils of the Roero give the wines unique and unrepeatable aromas.

Monferrato and Asti have variable characteristics: they range from sand to silt, to clayey soils and for this reason vines with different characteristics are grown.

We find white grape varieties such as Cortese, red grape varieties such as Barbera d’Asti and aromatic grape varieties such as Moscato and Brachetto.
